The extreme aridity and unique geological formations in specific areas of the Atacama Desert have led NASA to use them as testing grounds for Mars rovers. These hyper-arid valleys provide an environment analogous to the Red Planet's surface.

While sound cannot travel in a vacuum, space is filled with electromagnetic waves, including radio emissions from planets, stars, and other cosmic phenomena. NASA has captured and converted these into audible "sounds" that reveal the universe's hidden symphony.

Without the constant pull of gravity, the vertebrae in an astronaut's spine are no longer compressed, allowing the discs to expand slightly. This temporary increase in height reverts to normal upon returning to Earth, as gravity reasserts its influence.

Upon returning to the airlock after spacewalks, astronauts often describe a distinct, pungent aroma clinging to their suits, reminiscent of a metallic, smoky, and slightly sweet scent. This is thought to be caused by high-energy vibrations of ions in space.
