The Great Wall of China Is Not Visible from Space
Despite the popular claim, the Great Wall of China cannot be seen from space with the naked eye. Astronauts including Chinese astronaut Yang Liwei confirmed they could not see it. The wall, while over 21,000 km in total length, is only about 4–8 meters wide — too narrow to distinguish from orbit without aid. The myth persisted for centuries before modern spaceflight debunked it.
