The ubiquitous Fijian word "Bula" literally means "life" or "health" and is used as a versatile greeting for hello, welcome, good health, and cheers. It embodies the warm and friendly spirit of the Fijian people.

In the 19th century, Fiji earned a fearsome reputation for ritualistic cannibalism, which was eventually suppressed by missionaries and colonial powers. While the practice is long gone, its historical impact remains a topic of discussion.

With its nutrient-rich waters and vibrant reefs, Fiji boasts an extraordinary diversity of soft corals, earning it the title. Divers flock to its waters to witness the kaleidoscopic underwater gardens and abundant marine life.

Taveuni, known as the "Garden Isle," uniquely allows visitors to stand with one foot in today and the other in tomorrow. Although the actual date line was moved slightly eastward to keep all of Fiji in the same day, a historical marker remains.
