Extraterrestrial

Every day, countless tiny particles of cosmic dust, remnants from comets and asteroids, enter Earth's atmosphere. Most burn up as meteors, but the surviving dust adds a significant amount of extraterrestrial material to our planet.

Microscopic diamonds, known as nanodiamonds, are found in some meteorites, suggesting they can form in outer space, perhaps during asteroid impacts or within ancient stars. These cosmic diamonds offer clues about the early universe.
