Defense Mechanism

When severely threatened, opossums involuntarily enter a catatonic state, falling on their side, drooling, and emitting a foul smell. This unconscious reaction, lasting from minutes to hours, convinces predators they are dead and unappetizing, a truly bizarre survival mechanism.
