The Eiffel Tower Shrinks In Winter By Up To 6 Inches

Due to thermal contraction, the iron structure of the Eiffel Tower contracts in colder temperatures, causing its height to decrease by as much as 15 centimeters (6 inches). Conversely, it expands in summer, making the tower taller, a noticeable effect of basic material physics on large structures.
